canaan

I want to take a long journey
Its destination may not be Canaan
Though unlike Canaan;
It’s a land full of flowing peace and rest
No more overflowing honey and milk
Which of course of this world
Would involve a lot of beekeeping and livestock management
Nonetheless, a minor setback for the descendants of Abraham
For their millstone around their neck will turn a milestone
But for I, my foreign Canaan
Rest will be my stable food as sweet as honey
Day in, day out, till Judgement day
But so much unlike Jacob’s kids
Whereby a reduction of a mile chores to mere milli chore
Will result into an addition of milestone of rebellion
Yet far a long journey must come to an end
Whether expected or that comes as a surprise
All life’s weary journey comes to an ultimate end
Knowing this resigns us to rest already
